Do you want to keep up with the latest food safety standards and sustainable agricultural practises in Africa? Look no further than the GLOBAL G.A.P Tour 2023, which will visit Nairobi, Kenya from March 28th to March 30th!

The Crop Tour Stop conference, hosted in collaboration with Rootooba, a GLOBAL G.A.P Registered Trainer, aims to raise awareness of key food safety issues in crop value chains and how to meet safety standards for products, allowing farmers to penetrate new markets and boost business performance. The conference will also highlight relevant East African issues with the potential to facilitate safe and viable trade.

This two-day event will bring together a diverse group of participants, including producers, retailers, wholesalers, quality technicians, distribution chains, professional organisations, institutional representatives, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Attendees will be able to hear presentations and participate in roundtable discussions about topics such as sustainable agriculture practises, the latest version of GLOBAL G.A.P.’s flagship Integrated Farm Assurance standard, and sustainability certification in the EU market. A visit to a working solar greenhouse operation will also be included, giving participants a firsthand look at sustainable agriculture practises in action.

The organisers have carefully curated the content to cover the most relevant and timely topics in the industry to ensure participants get the most out of the conference. Whether you’re a farmer looking to increase yields, a policymaker looking to promote sustainable agricultural practises, or a business owner looking to expand into the agriculture sector, the GLOBAL G.A.P Tour 2023 is the ideal opportunity to meet industry leaders, learn about the latest trends and technologies, and gain insights into sustainable agriculture practises.

GLOBAL G.A.P Tour

Putting Food Safety and Sustainability on the Map

GLOBAL G.A.P Tour is a brand of smart farm assurance solutions developed by FoodPLUS GmbH in Cologne, Germany, with cooperation from producers, retailers, and other stakeholders from across the food industry. These solutions include a range of standards for safe, socially, and environmentally responsible farming practices. The most widely used GLOBAL G.A.P Tour standard is Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA), applicable to fruit and vegetables, aquaculture, floriculture, livestock, and more. This standard also forms the basis for the GGN label: The consumer label for certified, responsible farming and transparency.

The GLOBAL G.A.P Tour brand began its journey as EUREPGAP in 1997. Two decades later, over 200,000 producers are under GLOBALG.A.P. certification in 134 countries. Nearly 150 team members around the world are dedicated to the mission of spreading responsible farming practices to ensure safe food for future generations.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which farms are recognized for their efforts to continuously produce enough safe food while safeguarding our environment and the welfare of farming communities.

Our Mission

We collaborate with supply chain stakeholders to foster the global adoption of safe, socially, and environmentally responsible farming practices by providing industry-leading, cost-effective, and value-adding assurance and benchmarking solutions.

Our Purpose

Every generation has a right to safe food. To protect this right now and for future generations, the world’s farms must produce safe food in ways that are socially and environmentally responsible and resilient.
